Douglas Purcell
Douglas Purcell is the owner of Gradsha Building & Pest Inspections and has a background in strata and property management across remote areas of the Northern Territory. Working closely with builders, contractors and site managers gave Douglas firsthand knowledge of how building issues develop and what warning signs buyers should never ignore. Today, he combines that experience with detailed inspections, honest advice and easy-to-understand reports that help clients buy with confidence.
Douglas Purcell originally worked as a strata manager and property manager in the Northern Territory.
Managing properties in remote areas meant Douglas quickly learnt that understanding buildings was just as important as understanding tenants, budgets and maintenance.
Because trades and specialist support were not always readily available, Douglas worked closely with building site managers, contractors and maintenance teams to better understand how buildings perform, where problems start and what signs should never be ignored.
Over time, he developed a strong understanding of the early indicators of structural movement, moisture issues, termite damage, poor workmanship and maintenance problems that can end up costing owners thousands.
That hands-on knowledge, combined with years of experience in property management and strata, gave Douglas a unique perspective.
He has seen what happens after the sale.
He has seen the hidden problems, the expensive repairs, the disputes between owners, and the frustration that comes when buyers realise issues could have been identified earlier.
Today, Douglas brings that experience into every inspection.
He is known for being detailed, honest and easy to talk to. He takes the time to explain findings clearly, answer questions and help buyers understand not just what the issues are, but what they may mean long term.
